Hamlet His Highness

The guitar duo Hamlet His Highness is formed by multi-instrumentalist Alexander Haletski and guitarist and singer Tatsiana Schuka. They met in 2011 in an experimental music project Chess Club Underground Society, and continue make music until now. In Hamlet His Highness they both acting under the pseudonyms Ivan Medvedev and Maria Kovach.

Alexander Haletski has a great musical history. Before creating project Hamlet His Highness, he was the guitarist and bass player in Magical Unicellular Music by Anton Krivulia, accompanied the ex-vocalist of the cult German krautrock group Can Damo Suzuki, was with his own project The Winter War In Tibet at the festival “Ethnomechanica” and played with his guitar trio Insumthinmagma memorable concerts at the Center of Contemporary Art in Berlin and at the “Night of Museums” in Minsk in 2011.

Tatsiana Schuka also have a large musical baggage – her childhood passed in the ensemble “Buslik”, that was founded and directed by the ‘Pesnyary” composer Dmitry Yavtuhovich. Everyone heard her voice in the popular Belarusian children’s song «We all come from childhood». After she has a five-years break in musical creation while a little boy was growing up. And then the music again become an important part of life in the project Chess Club Underground Society. And it was a completely different music!
